Hart's mezzotint is a reduced copy of an English print by C. Corbutt published by C. Shepherd. Interestingly, Corbutt's portrait is based on John Singer Copley's famous portrait of Hancock and is one of the only prints in the series to be based on an actual likeness of the sitter"- Barry Lawrence Ruderman, Antique Maps, Inc.
